Mumbai: Rakshabandhan isn’t just about tying a thread it’s about tying hearts, cherishing memories, and celebrating the unspoken strength of sibling bonds. As the nation unites to celebrate this timeless tradition, Sony SAB’s beloved faces Shabir Ahluwalia, Ashi Singh, Aan Tiwari, and Garima Parihar revisit the childhood rituals, playful fights, and emotional moments that made Rakhi truly special. In their reflections, the sweetness of the festival shines through, mirroring the deep-rooted connections they so effortlessly portray on screen.

Garima Parihar, who plays Deepti in Pushpa Impossible, said, “Despite a 10-year age gap, my brother and I share a bond that beautifully balances maturity and mischief. Every Rakshabandhan is a reminder of that special connection. We may have grown up, but the rakhi I tie around his wrist still carries all the love, protection, and shared memories from childhood. He’s like a second father to me, always protective, always supportive. He can sense when something’s off just by looking at me, and I do everything I can to lift his spirits when he’s stressed. Now that he’s a father himself, it’s heartwarming to see his little one, his mini version, joining in our Rakhi traditions. We still pull each other’s leg, but at the end of the day, we make sure our home is filled with smiles. Rakshabandhan isn’t just a festival, it’s a celebration of the constant, comforting presence he’s been in my life.”

Ashi Singh, known for her role as Kairi Sharma in Ufff…Yeh Love Hai Mushkil, said, “Rakshabandhan has always been super special for me, not just because of my brother, but also because I have three amazing sisters! Our house turns into a total celebration zone with all the teasing, dressing up, and chaos that comes with having four siblings. My brother is the only guy among us, so he gets pampered and bullied in equal measure! This year, I’ve already made it clear that I want a special gift from him, no excuses! We’ve grown up sharing everything from chocolates to secrets, and Rakhi is that one day where the love (and the leg-pulling!) multiplies. No matter how busy life gets, this day brings us all together, and I truly cherish that.”

Shabir Ahluwalia, who essays the role of Yug in Ufff…Yeh Love Hai Mushkil, says, “Rakshabandhan has always been close to my heart because it’s not just about a ritual it’s about the promise of always being there for each other. My sister Shefali and I may not live in the same city anymore, but the bond we share is just as strong, if not stronger. We’ve grown up being each other’s biggest cheerleaders, and that hasn’t changed with distance. This year, I’m planning to surprise her with something thoughtful that brings a smile to her face because she deserves that and so much more. Even if we can’t be together physically on Rakhi, the love and connection we share go far beyond the Rakhi she ties on my wrist.”

Aan Tiwari, who essays the role of Lord Hanuman in Veer Hanuman, says, “Saachi Didi and my bond is full of love, laughter, and a whole lot of secrets! I am very lucky to have her in my life. She’s like a second mom, always guiding me, supporting me, and making sure I’m on the right path. And me? I’m her cheerleader and protector—no one can say anything to her in front of me! When she’s upset, I give her the biggest hug and do whatever I can to make her smile. That’s what Rakhi means to me, celebrating this unbreakable, unconditional love we share.”
