Khanna (Ludhiana), Sep 24, 2025: Rural Development and Panchayats Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond on Wednesday exhorted the farmers to manage paddy stubble using modern agricultural machinery instead of burning it as it burning not only harms the environment but also produces pollution that is detrimental to human health, livestock, and vegetation.
While inaugurating a Farmers’ Awareness Camp on Stubble Management and Kharif Crops organized by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare, Sond assured that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, stands firmly with farmers and is providing all possible support.
Encouraging farmers to preserve the land, Sond stressed the importance of harvesting crop residue back into the fields to maintain soil health and highlighted that conserving water and protecting the land is the need of hour. He stated that the Agriculture department’s primary goal is to provide farmers with high-quality seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides and affirmed the department’s commitment to organizing village and block-level camps to deliver technical knowledge about crops to farmers.

He also lauded the Agriculture department for organizing such camps and added these camps are highly beneficial in enhancing farmers’ expertise. These not only educate farmers about modern agricultural techniques but also provide valuable guidance on crop management and soil health.
