Khanna (Ludhiana), Septemebr 5, 2025: Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond on Friday flagged off the third relief truck to the flood-affected areas of Fatehgarh Churian in Gurdaspur district. The truck carried essential supplies, including dry rations, large quantities of flour bags, pulses, rice, bottled drinking water, soap, detergent, medicines, and other necessary items.

These relief materials were handed over to Khalsa Aid, which will distribute them in the flood-affected areas. Earlier, Minister Sond had sent two trucks of animal feed from Khanna to the flood-hit areas of Fazilka district to support livestock.

in his address, Cabinet Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond highlighted the extensive damage caused by floods in Punjab. He noted that livestock are starving, and people have been forced to abandon their homes due to flooding. He emphasized that whenever the nation needed support, Punjabis have given their blood and sweat. When the country faced hunger, Punjab filled its food reserves. When it came to defending the nation's borders, Punjabis made unparalleled sacrifices. During the freedom struggle, 90% of the sacrifices were made by Punjabis. However, today, as Punjab grapples with a natural calamity, neither other states nor the union government are stepping forward to help.

Minister Sond expressed disappointment over the visit of Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to Punjab. There were high hopes that the Union Minister would announce aid for Punjab, but he left empty-handed. He thanked the people of Punjab for their generous contributions during this crisis and praised Punjabi artists working in the flood-affected areas.

Sond also mentioned that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has directed all cabinet ministers, MLAs, chairpersons, and other officials to work tirelessly in the flood-affected regions.

Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included Sonia Dhawan, and Principal Rakesh Thakur, along with Market Committee Khanna Chairman Jagtar Singh Gill Ratanheri and others.
