Trainers have a vital role to play in effectively implementing this system at the grassroots level. Dr. Virendra Singh Chauhan, Director of the Haryana Rural Development Institute, Nilokheri, expressed these views while addressing participants at a five-day training program on social audit.
Nilokheri, July 29, 2026: Social audit is not just a means of reviewing schemes, but also an effective tool to strengthen transparency, accountability, and public participation in governance. Trainers have a vital role to play in effectively implementing this system at the grassroots level. Dr. Virendra Singh Chauhan, Director of the Haryana Rural Development Institute, Nilokheri, expressed these views while addressing participants at a five-day training program on social audit.
Program coordinator Dr. Wazir Singh, while presenting the outline of the training program, explained that the concept, process, legal provisions, practical exercises, and field experiences of social audit will be discussed in detail.
HIRD Director Dr. Virendra Singh Chauhan stated that the real benefits of rural development schemes can reach the public only when transparency, public participation, and accountability are ensured in their implementation. He urged the participants to effectively apply the knowledge and experiences gained during the training in their respective fields and play an active role in making the social audit process more robust and result-oriented.
He stated that social audit is a means of strengthening democratic values. It not only ensures better implementation of schemes but also strengthens trust between the public and the administration. He encouraged participants to actively participate in each training session and share their experiences.
Resource persons Sanjeev, Pinky, and Lalita, along with HIRD officials, training coordinators, and participants from various districts were present. During the program, participants interacted with experts on various topics related to social audit and shared practical experiences.
