Snow and rain grip Himachal since morning on Monday

Dharamshala, December 11, 2017: Himachal Pradesh is witnessing the rough weather for the past 12 hours or so due to Western Disturbances during this period which has increased by manifold. The hilly state is not only witness an increase in the frequent spells of rains, but snowfall also. The weather forecast has warned the public of the state specially to the residents of higher reaches for more rough weather, heavy rain/snow in the next four days.

All the mountain ranges including Dhouladhar are receiving heavy snowfall since morning, whereas rain has started almost everywhere in the state after a dry spell of over one and a half month.

During the last 12 hours till 5:30 pm on Monday , Keylong ,the head quarter of the Lahoul Spiti district recorded 3 cm of snowfall. Whereas Dhalhousie was the wettest place with 25 mm of rain followed by Dharamshala 14.2 mm rain. Kangra recorded 11mm rain and 4mm in Chamba and 2 mm in Shimla.

Maximum temperatures has decreased by 5 to 6 degree Celsius during last 24 hours. Highest temperature recorded in state was at Nahan (22.5 degree Celsius).
