Bathinda, July 31, 2023: A 25 years female has undergone a successful skull base surgery at Ivy Hospital, Bathinda recently. She was suffering from excruciating pain and recurrent watery leakage through her nose.

She had visited many hospitals but her condition remained undiagnosed thus leaving her in distress for the past 2-3 years.

At Ivy Hospital, Bathinda, Dr. Grace Budhiraja ENT Consultant conducted a thorough examination, recognizing the complexity of the case. The patient was immediately recommended to undergo a series of tests, including a CT Cisternography to uncover the root cause of her ailment.

Following a comprehensive evaluation, the medical team diagnosed that CSF leakage was originating directly from the brain itself, and it was compounded by an abnormal defect in bone separating the nose and brain.

The surgery involved the use of tissues from the patient's right thigh to bridge the gap in the bone caused by the brain's condition. The surgery lasted for 45 min and the patient was discharged after 72 hrs. She is now stable and doing well.
