ŠKODA AUTO Volkswagen India domestic sales zoom past 100,000 units in 2022

Backed by the strong sales performance of its five Group brands and the resounding success of its Made-in-India models, ŠKODA AUTO Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) clocked exceptional growth with 1,01,270 units sold this year, while exports stood at 33,397 units.

Chandigarh, January 4, 2023: Backed by the strong sales performance of its five Group brands and the resounding success of its Made-in-India models, ŠKODA AUTO Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) clocked exceptional growth with 1,01,270 units sold this year, while exports stood at 33,397 units. Sales were up 86% year-on-year as compared to 2021. Continuing with its aggressive product offensive, the Group introduced 20+ model updates through the year across its five brands - ŠKODA, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, and Lamborghini.

During the year, the sales volumes for brands ŠKODA AUTO and Volkswagen have been robust. ŠKODA AUTO India registered its highest-ever sales volume with a growth of 125%. Volkswagen India grew by 58%, its highest in the last 5 years. The Group’s luxury brands, Audi, Porsche and Lamborghini maintained their upward trajectory with strong double-digit growth. SAVWIPL continued to take significant measures towards ‘Sustainable Growth’ under its ‘goTOzero’ mission with the Aurangabad plant transitioning to 100% Green Energy. The successful performance in 2022 has set the right note and will drive the growth momentum for the Group in 2023.
