Skill Development Course on Social Media Station held at Doaba College

Jalandhar, July 22, 2022: PG Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Doaba College Jalandhar organized a value added skill development certificate course entitled Social Media Station.

Principal Dr Pardeep Bhandari said that during this course the students were taught the art of observation and skill to explain it verbally and in writing.   Emphasis was laid on generating an idea; creative writing which further helped in script writing and narration. Award winning short films were shown to brush up their skills in creating content. 

Dr Simran Sidhu-Head and Coordinator, Prof Priya Chopra, prof Shina and Prof Niharika  taught the students about the rules of report writing for a reporter. Students also learnt art of handling microphone, basic mannerism for introducing themselves to audiences on a mass media platform. They also learnt how to generate content for social media, focusing on target audiences.

Thereafter the students were taught rules for good photography, composition and various types of photography on camera and mobile. Students also did hand on training in mobile journalism. They were also given practical training in audio video editing and various formats of transitions.
