Continuous learning and skill development are essential for building a successful career in the media industry, experts said during an orientation session organised by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, MDU, for MA final-year, third-semester students.
Rohtak, August 13, 2026: Continuous learning and skill development are essential for building a successful career in the media industry, experts said during an orientation session organised by the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication, MDU, for MA final-year, third-semester students.
Faculty members Dr. Bainul Tomar, Dr. Naveen Kumar, Sunit Mukherjee and former Head of the Department Prof. Harish Kumar interacted with students and guided them on the third-semester curriculum as well as developing a career roadmap in the media sector.
Prof. Harish Kumar advised students to read newspapers regularly and strengthen their language skills, while highlighting the growing opportunities in media entrepreneurship. Dr. Bainul Tomar discussed career prospects in media management, advertising, corporate communication and short-film production.
Sunit Mukherjee urged students to use media platforms to raise awareness about social and environmental issues. Dr. Naveen Kumar emphasised the importance of technical skills in media production. Research scholar Pankaj shared his teaching experiences, while students Aakash and Ritu also expressed their views.
The students pledged to focus on academic engagement, social awareness and continuous skill development to enhance their professional prospects in the media industry.
