Skill development centre launched by Inner Wheel Club of Ludhiana

Project targets to empower less privileged women to be trained in different skills

Ludhiana, July 16, 2019: In continuation with their efforts to uplift the less privileged in society, the Inner Wheel Club of Ludhiana has launched project `Asha Kiran’.

The project targets to empower the less privileged women to be trained in different skills which will help them to become financially independent.

Under the skill development project the first step taken is to start a fully equipped beauty training centre which will be overseen by a trained beauty expert.

The project has been partnered with Sacha Ashram in Chander Nagar Ludhiana who have donated three air-conditioned rooms for the purpose.

The certified course will be for a duration of three months. Post this the women shall also be helped to get suitable jobs.

The ladies of the Inner Wheel Club are already successfully running Nirdosh, a School for the Mentally Challenged in Sarabha Nagar Ludhiana since the past 42 years.

Asha Kiran will target only needy ladies and girls under this project.

Praveen Narang, Project Director, said, ``After lot of research we have zeroed down on this area and have found that there are many candidates here for learning of this art.’’

Elaborating on the launch Kamma H Singh, President hoped that more such special courses shall be introduced.
