SJOBA Honours St. John’s Teachers on Teachers’ Day
The St. John’s Old Boys’ Association (SJOBA) organised a special Teachers’ Day celebration in Chandigarh, to honour the teachers of St. John’s High School. The event brought together teachers and alumni to express their gratitude and appreciation for the educators who have inspired, mentored and guided generations of Johnians.
Chandigarh, September 5, 2026: The St. John’s Old Boys’ Association (SJOBA) organised a special Teachers’ Day celebration in Chandigarh, to honour the teachers of St. John’s High School. The event brought together teachers and alumni to express their gratitude and appreciation for the educators who have inspired, mentored and guided generations of Johnians.The event was coordinated by SJOBA Executive Member Anubhav Naresh, while P. Gaganpall Singh Sekhon, Vice President, SJOBA, played an important role in the organisation of the event. Dr. Abhishek Misra served as the co-host. Executive members, office bearers and other members of SJOBA were also present on the occasion.
SJOBA President Nikhil Jaspal said, "This special celebration was dedicated to recognising the invaluable contribution of teachers. Their commitment, guidance and continued support have played a significant role in shaping the lives, careers and personalities of countless students."
Honorary Secretary of SJOBA Danish Mangat said, "Through the event SJOBA expressed respect and gratitude towards the teachers. The activity was a beautiful reflection of the bond that continues between teachers and students even after students leave school."
The event began with a warm welcome for the teachers. Specially arranged photo booths added colour and enthusiasm to the occasion, giving teachers, alumni and colleagues an opportunity to capture memorable moments and revisit cherished memories of their years at St. John’s.
Speaking on the occasion, Rajshree Vipin, Principal, St. John’s High School, said that Teachers’ Day is always special, but when former students make the occasion special for their teachers, it becomes even more meaningful.
As a gesture of respect and gratitude, SJOBA honoured all the teachers present at the celebration. A special cake-cutting ceremony was also organised in their honour. The atmosphere was filled with happiness, warmth, camaraderie and nostalgia, bringing alive once again the strong and enduring bond shared by the St. John’s family.
Brother Augustine, Community Leader, St. John’s High School said, The greatest legacy of any school is not only the achievements of its students, but also the relationships and values that remain with them years after they leave the school. This celebration organised by SJOBA is a beautiful way of expressing gratitude towards our teachers.
The celebration also featured a range of entertainment and interactive activities. Exciting and competitive rounds of Tambola, musical Antakshari sessions and several entertaining games and activities kept everyone engaged throughout the event. The activities added to the atmosphere of happiness, enthusiasm and camaraderie.
As tokens of respect, love and appreciation from the St. John’s alumni community, the teachers were presented with specially curated gifts and goodie bags.
The successful conduct of the celebration was supported by the event's partner organisations, which included - Kimoha Technologies, Chitkara University, Provider, YKM Bottling Company, Blush, Chaupal, Piccadly, Pt. Khushi Ram and Associates, Siacera, and Just Peachy.
