Six Days of Learning, Inspiration and Discovery: DAV University Concludes Deeksharambh 2026
DAV University, Jalandhar, successfully concluded its six-day Student Induction Programme, ‘Deeksharambh 2026’, organised from August 3 to 8, 2026. The comprehensive programme was designed to provide newly admitted students with a meaningful introduction to the university’s academic ecosystem, institutional values, student support systems and diverse opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Jalandhar, August 8, 2026: DAV University, Jalandhar, successfully concluded its six-day Student Induction Programme, ‘Deeksharambh 2026’, organised from August 3 to 8, 2026. The comprehensive programme was designed to provide newly admitted students with a meaningful introduction to the university’s academic ecosystem, institutional values, student support systems and diverse opportunities for personal and professional growth.
The concluding day commenced with an insightful session on ‘Credit Transfer through MOOCs’, conducted by Lakhveer Singh Khana, Assistant Professor and Officer In-Charge, Centre for Multifaceted Learning, Guru Nanak Dev Engineering College, Ludhiana. The session familiarised students with the opportunities offered by MOOCs and flexible online learning platforms, highlighting their role in enhancing academic learning and enabling students to broaden their knowledge beyond the conventional classroom.
This was followed by an awareness session on ‘Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Education’, delivered by Nimrata Gill, Advocate, Punjab and Haryana High Court. The session sensitised students to the legal, ethical and social implications of ragging and emphasised the importance of fostering a safe, respectful, inclusive and welcoming campus environment.
The final session focused on Cyber Security and was conducted by Mr Dheeraj, Advocate, District Courts, Jalandhar. The session equipped students with essential awareness about cyber safety, responsible digital behaviour, online threats and the importance of protecting personal information in an increasingly digital environment.
Addressing the newly admitted students, Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar, Vice-Chancellor, DAV University, congratulated them on becoming a part of the DAV University family and encouraged them to make the most of the academic, cultural, sports and co-curricular opportunities available on campus. He emphasised the importance of holistic development, continuous learning, discipline and active participation in university life.
Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Arora, Registrar, DAV University, appreciated the concerted efforts of the organising team, faculty members, student volunteers and resource persons in making Deeksharambh 2026 a meaningful and enriching experience for the students. He urged the newly admitted students to uphold discipline, embrace the university’s values and actively participate in various academic and extracurricular activities.
Dr. Kamaljeet Kaur Sidhu, Dean Students’ Welfare, encouraged the students to actively engage with the university’s clubs, societies and campus initiatives. She highlighted the importance of developing confidence, leadership skills, teamwork and a strong sense of responsibility alongside academic excellence.
The programme concluded on a vibrant note with the Talent Hunt, which provided the newly admitted students with a platform to showcase their creativity, confidence and diverse talents. The event added a celebratory dimension to the concluding day and reflected the enthusiasm and energy of the new cohort.
Throughout the six-day programme, students were introduced to a wide range of themes relevant to their academic, personal and professional development, including Vedic values, disaster management, innovation, environmental awareness, examination policies, civil services, mental well-being, sports, yoga, student clubs, financial procedures, media awareness and cyber security.
The successful conclusion of Deeksharambh 2026 marked not merely the end of an induction programme but the beginning of a new and enriching chapter in the academic journey of the newly admitted students.
