Hyderabad, April 6, 2022: Art-Hub and Surmandal to organise a Sitar Recital & Kathak Dance on 9th April at 6pm at NTR Auditorium at Potti Sriramulu Telugu University, Public Gardens.
 
Paul Livingstone will be performing Sitar Recital and Mukthi Shri, Kathak Dance. Together with them Shashanka Bakshi will accompany Mr Paul on Tabla. He is the disciple of the great tabla legend Pt Samta Prasad. The other accompanying artists include: Accompanying artists include:

It will be a tribute to the legends of Hindustan Classical Music & Dance such as Pt Ravishankarji and Pt Birju Maharajji informed Mohan Hemmadi, Founder of Surmandal.
 
International performing artist Paul Livingstone is one of the few American disciples of the legendary Pt. Ravi Shankar and also learned from Pt. Rajeev Taranath and Amiya Dasgupta.  He has performed around the US, Mexico, Europe and South Asia with leading tabla artists of South Asia including Pt. Swapan Chaudhuri. A dedicated sitarist since his first sojourn in India in 1985, Paul is also an upright bass player on which he explores the meditative inspiration of dhrupad. As a composer of 'ragajazz chamber music' in the realm of world music synthesis Paul leads his own Arohi Ensemble as well as performing regularly as a classical sitar soloist.
 
Mukti has undergone Kathak training with Pandita Shama Bhate for more than 10 years and still continues to learn from her as well as other Gurus in India. Mukti has been learning Laya Shastra, the science of rhythm from Padmashri Taalyogi Pt. Suresh Talwalkar.
 
Dance is equivalent to Worship for Mukthi.  Perseverance and compliance has been the mantra to better her with each performance.
 
She is one of those versatile artists who on one hand performs pure Kathak repertoire and on the other experiments with contemporary and Jazz music.
 
Mukti has performed solo and in group in many cities across the globe. She has performed as a soloist at the Temple of Fine Arts in Malaysia, Thailand cultural centre; Saint Annamaya festival in New York;  International cultural centre, Vigo, Spain and Music festival in Gothenberg, Sweden. In 2010, she performed at the Barbican centre, London; South Bank Centre, London and UK Kathak festival, Bhavan, London.
