In a significant boost to Andhra Pradesh’s vision of transforming Amaravati into a world-class capital and knowledge destination, Singapore-headquartered Global Schools Group (GSG) has announced the establishment of a new campus of its flagship institution, Global Indian International School (GIIS), in Amaravati.
Amaravati, June 17, 2026: In a significant boost to Andhra Pradesh’s vision of transforming Amaravati into a world-class capital and knowledge destination, Singapore-headquartered Global Schools Group (GSG) has announced the establishment of a new campus of its flagship institution, Global Indian International School (GIIS), in Amaravati.
The upcoming campus, to be developed on a four-acre site in Sakhamuru village in Thulluru Mandal, marks a major investment in the region’s educational infrastructure and reflects growing global confidence in Amaravati’s long-term growth trajectory. The proposed investment of ₹100 crore will be directed towards creating a state-of-the-art, sustainable K-12 learning environment that integrates global best practices with future-focused education.
The project achieved a key milestone with the signing of a formal agreement between the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) and GIIS. The agreement was signed by Jubin Roy, Joint Director, CRDA and Mr Rajeev Koul, Country Director, GIIS.
Designed to nurture the next generation of global citizens, innovators and leaders, the new campus will feature advanced learning spaces, technology-enabled classrooms, innovation labs, sports infrastructure, performing arts facilities, and holistic development centres. Students will benefit from GIIS' globally recognised educational framework that seamlessly integrates academic excellence, values-based learning, leadership development, entrepreneurship, and future-ready skills.
Commenting on the announcement, Atul Temurnikar, Chairman and Co-Founder, Global Schools Group, said, “We are honoured to be invited to be part of Swarna Andhra Vision 2047, and contribute to innovation and skills development. We sincerely thank Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu Ji and the Government of Andhra Pradesh for creating an ethical city environment that welcomes leading global institutions and encourages investments in education and human capital development.”
“The establishment of GIIS in Amaravati is not merely the creation of a school; it is an investment in the future of the region. Our goal is to provide students access to globally benchmarked education that empowers them with the knowledge, skills, values, and sustainability mindset required to thrive in a rapidly evolving world. We look forward to contributing meaningfully to the educational, social, and economic development of Andhra Pradesh for decades to come,” he added.
During his Singapore visit, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu met with GSG Chairman Atul Temurnikar and congratulated and welcomed Global Indian International School (GIIS) to Amravati.
The development also carries special significance in the context of the enduring relationship between Singapore and Amaravati. As Singapore played a pivotal role in shaping Amaravati's master plan, the establishment of a Singapore-headquartered educational institution represents a natural extension of this partnership—strengthening collaboration in education, talent development, and knowledge exchange.
With a presence across 11 countries and a network serving more than 45,000 students worldwide, Global Schools Group is among the world’s most respected K-12 education providers. The Amaravati campus will further expand GIIS’s growing footprint in India while helping address the increasing demand for high-quality international education and nurturing future-ready talent equipped to contribute to India's next phase of growth.
