Thiruvananthapuram: Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) has allocated a sum of INR 120.76 lakhs to the Kerala State Association of Financial Inclusion Institute (KASAFI). 

The financial support was officially handed over at the Finance Ministry's credit extension fair held in Thiruvananthapuram on Saturday. KASAFI President, K. Paul Thomas, received the amount from the esteemed Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman, underscoring the government's commitment to fostering economic empowerment and entrepreneurship.

This collaborative initiative between KASAFI and SIDBI aims to conduct various training programs and workshops for women entrepreneurship development across Wayanad, Palakkad, Thrissur, Ernakulam, Kollam, and Thiruvananthapuram. Alongside the SIDBI contribution, KASAFI is also investing an additional INR 13,41,800 lakhs in the scheme. K Paul Thomas, President of KASAFI, emphasized that the main objective of the project is to empower 5000 women through financial assistance and training, enabling them to become micro-entrepreneurs.
