Shubhkarman of DIPS won gold medal in Khelo India Youth Games

Jalandhar, June 10, 2022: In Khelo India Youth Games 2022 Student of DIPS Chain Shubhkarman has brought laurels win the Gold medal and set new record in Discuss throw. This competition held in Panchkula, Haryana. 

With the gold medal, Shubhkarman has also set a new record of 60.76m. Shubhkarman is a student of class 12th in Dips School Surranussi under Dips Chain. In the recently held Junior Federation Cup in Gujarat, he has also won gold medal in discuss throw, under-20 category. In the coming days, he will go on to play at the Junior World Championships, Colombia.

Dips Chain Chairperson Jaswinder Kaur, CEO Monica Mandotra and School Principal Bela Kapoor welcomed Shubhkarman to the school with flowers. On this achievement, he was honored with an incentive certificate. Chairperson Jaswinder Kaur said that it is a matter of pride for us that Shubhkarman is a student of our school, now we hope to win gold in Olympics. CEO Monica Mandotra said that winning gold is not an easy thing, it takes a lot of hard work. Shubhkarman is an inspiration to the rest of the Dips kids.

Shubhakarman told that he started playing the game of discus throw after being inspired by his father Sukhwinder Singh. His father has also been a player of National Javelin Throw. Earlier, in the Junior National Championship, he has won Gold in Discuss Throw and Silver Medal in Shotput. In the CBSE National Games 2019, he set a new record by creating new records in Discuss Throw and won Silver Medal in Shotput. Shubhkarman told that to achieve this feat, he practices at least 6 hours every day. Along with sports, he also pays full attention to his studies. After this achievement, he is preparing for the international level competition.

Shubhakarman said that along with his coach, his school has supported him a lot in this achievement. In school, children are always motivated to move forward in sports along with education. 

Dips Chain MD Tarwinder Singh, CAO Ramneek Singh, Jashan Singh congratulated Shubkarman for this new record, as well as a good performance in the upcoming international level competition. He said that it is a matter of great pride for DIPS and hope that in future also the students of DIPS will bring glory to India by participating in the Olympics.
