Chandigarh, 28 November 2025: Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Computer Centre, Panjab University (PU) today organised a short-term training programme for the technical staff of the University departments, centres, and administrative offices. 

This goodwill handholding session from the Computer Centre was initiated with the objective of promoting effective adoption and optimal utilisation of available technologies at PU by technical personnel. The short-term training programme was attended by more than 100 technical staff members from across the PU campus and its regional centres.

The training programme covered insights into the functioning of the Panjab University network, shortcuts for troubleshooting departmental networks, web administration aligned with respective departments, and uploading documents, advertisements, and other details on departmental website noticeboards. Participants were also apprised of the process for conducting online events, meetings, and Webex sessions.

The event was presided over by Prof. YP Verma, Registrar, Panjab University, Chandigarh, who appreciated the efforts of Prof. Sonal Chawla, Director, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Computer Centre, and the staff of the Centre for taking this initiative to enhance confidence and update the technical skills of PU staff, thereby strengthening service delivery. He emphasised that more such programmes should be conducted, as they would significantly contribute to improving robust technical support across all departments of Panjab University.
