Short film 'Srijan' created by students of DLC SUPVA selected for JIFF 2026
The short film 'Srijan', created by students of Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), Rohtak has been selected for the Jaipur International Film Festival 2026 (JIFF). JIFF will begin on February 13th at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, where 'Srijan' will be specially screened. 'Srijan' was produced by DLCSUPVA.
Rohtak, January 28, 2026: The short film 'Srijan', created by students of Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA), Rohtak has been selected for the Jaipur International Film Festival 2026 (JIFF). JIFF will begin on February 13th at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, where 'Srijan' will be specially screened. 'Srijan' was produced by DLCSUPVA.
SUPVA's Film and Television Department FC Mahesh TP said that the 8-minute short film 'Srijan' was created by fifth-semester students. It was directed by Hemang Vyas. The cinematography was handled by Happy Kumar (DOP), while the editing was done by Abhi Ved. Pulkit Sharma (Audiographer) and Chhail Sharma (Art Director) made significant contributions to the sound design and art direction, respectively.
On the selection of the short film 'Srijan' for screening at the JIFF, DLCSUPVA’s Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya said that the appreciation received for the short film, which was created during their studies, clearly indicates that SUPVA students will become prominent names in the country's film industry after completing their education. They will showcase the creativity learned at the university to the world.
VC Dr. Arya said that the short film 'Srijan', produced by DLCSUPVA, not only depicts the inner turmoil of an artist and their creative journey but also proves that creations emerging from educational institutions can make a significant impact at the national and international levels. This film presents a story of art, emotion, and struggle with remarkable realism, giving a powerful voice to the artist's silent struggles.
Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha said that the sensitive short film 'Srijan', produced by DLCSUPVA, has already made a strong impression at prestigious film festivals across the country. The film, focused on the struggles of an artist and the pain of their overlooked art, continues to captivate audiences and juries alike. She further added that 'Srijan' has previously received accolades at the Dehradun Film Festival, Dada Saheb Phalke Film Festival 2026, and Andhra Pradesh Film Festival 2025. Its consistent selection at various national and international platforms highlights the creative potential and academic excellence of DLCSUPVA.
