Sharda University Sparks Innovation of Internal Hackathon for SIH 2025 

The campus of Sharda University came alive with innovation and excitement as the Sharda School of Computing Science and Engineering (SSCSE) kicked off its much-awaited Internal Hackathon 2025, scheduled for September 23rd and 24th, serving as the gateway to the prestigious Smart India Hackathon (SIH).

Greater Noida, September 23, 2025: The campus of Sharda University came alive with innovation and excitement as the Sharda School of Computing Science and Engineering (SSCSE) kicked off its much-awaited Internal Hackathon 2025, scheduled for September 23rd and 24th, serving as the gateway to the prestigious Smart India Hackathon (SIH).
The opening day turned into a powerhouse of creativity and problem-solving, with hundreds of young innovators racing against time to propose technology-driven solutions to real-world challenges.
Addressing the spirited participants, Prof. (Dr.) Sibaram Khara, Vice-Chancellor of Sharda University, called SIH “a transformative platform that bridges classroom learning with real-life problem-solving.” He inspired students to think critically, innovate boldly, and push boundaries to address pressing national issues.
The enthusiasm was evident as 400+ teams pitched groundbreaking ideas before a distinguished panel of evaluators. After the first round of rigorous presentations on Day 1, 100 teams advanced to the next stage, out of which 50 top performers will proceed to the SIH portal submissions, aiming for a coveted spot in the SIH Grand Finale.
The event was graced by the presence of eminent academicians and mentors, including Prof. (Dr.) Parma Nand (Pro Vice-Chancellor, Sharda University), Prof. (Dr.) Geetha Ganesan (Dean, SSCSE), Prof. (Dr.) Sudeep Varshney (HoD, CSE), Dr. Rajneesh Kumar Singh (HoD, CSA), Ashish Jain (SPOC), Dr. Sandeep Kumar (Coordinator), Dr. Rani Astya, Dr. Shikha Verma, Durgesh Kumar, Aanchal Vij, Jitendra Singh, Dr. Ramneet, Dr. Yagyesh Godiyal, Khushwant Virdi, Ashish Kumar, Kamini, and Mekhala, whose guidance and evaluations added immense value, pushing participants to sharpen their ideas and problem-solving approaches.
Behind the spotlight, the backbone of the event was the relentless effort of its student coordinators, who worked tirelessly for weeks to ensure the success of the hackathon. Leading the dynamic coordination team were Pawan Upadhyay, Yashaswini Uddavolu, Deepak, and Saurav Suman, supported by many other enthusiastic students. From managing registrations and assisting mentors to coordinating logistics and supporting participants, their teamwork ensured that Day 1 ran seamlessly.
Applauding their dedication, Prof. (Dr.) Parma Nand, Pro VC of Sharda University, remarked: “Events like these don’t just test innovation—they ignite passion. Our students have shown that with the right platform, they can achieve brilliance.” Echoing this, Prof. (Dr.) Geetha Ganesan, Dean of SCSE, added: “The dedication of both participants and coordinators has set a new benchmark of excellence for our university.” 
The Government of India has introduced 18 diverse and forward-looking themes for the Smart India Hackathon (SIH) 2025. Demonstrating their innovation and versatility, students from Sharda University actively participated across almost all of these categories, showcasing a broad spectrum of problem-solving abilities. Their contributions spanned some of the most impactful and trending themes, including Generative AI and Machine Learning, Smart Cities and Sustainability, Healthcare and Biotech Innovation, and Agriculture and Food-Tech Solutions. By addressing real-world challenges under these themes, the students not only highlighted their technical skills but also reaffirmed their commitment to building solutions that align with the nation’s vision for a smarter and more sustainable future.
With an exhilarating start on September 23rd, Sharda University reaffirmed its mission to foster innovation, creativity, and problem-solving excellence—perfectly aligned with the vision of SIH to build tech-powered solutions for a better tomorrow.
