To mark the celebration of International Year of Basic Sciences for Sustainable Development 2022, Sharda University organized various events like quiz, debates, workshops, and startup ideas in which students from various schools, like Holy Public School, Gyan Jyoti Public School, R.S Public School, Kendriya Vidyalaya Greater Noida were participated. The program was inaugurated by Professor Shyamal Banerjee, Dean, School of Basic Science; Dr. Anupam Aggarwal, Head, Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry; Professor Jayanti Ranjan, Professor N. B. Singh, Professor Geeta Durga lighting the lamp.

 Addressing the students, Prof. Shyamal Banerjee said “ the principle of sustainable development makes the future of present and future generations safe and healthy. He also stated that the Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry is setting new standards of research in the field of Sustainable Development, Green Technology, and Waste Management. 

Sharing her views, Professor Jayanti Ranjan, Dean, Sharda School of Business Studies said “students should grow their knowledge and wisdom”. She also motivated students towards research for the benefit of society and mankind. Science is the future of the country, which will help the country to grow. Students should always focus more on practical knowledge, said Prof Ranjan.

During the occasion, Dr. Preeti Jain, Dr. Nupur Srivastava, Dr. Shashank Sharma, Dr. Paratpar Sarkar, Dr. Mridula, Dr. Surender, Dr. Suman Mallick, Dr. Ashish, Dr. Sarita Srivastava, Narendra, Iqra, Misbah, Dimple, Pooja, Saloni, Afsar, Vinita, Shashikant, Anuj, Vaibhav, Naveen, Dr. Anupam Aggarwal, along with various students and staff were also present.
