Dharamshala: Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shanta Kumar has said that Dr. Syama Prasad Mukherjee's sacrifice day has come 67 times since 1953. But India has got the real right to celebrate the sacrifice day, this time, on June 23, for the first time. This is due to the courageous decision of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which led to the abolition of Article 370 after 67 years and by which, the crown of saffron and the crown of Mother India became fully part of India. He has congratulated the entire country for this.
Shanta said, “The Bharatiya Jana Sangh started a nation-wide satyagraha under the leadership of Dr. Mukherjee in 1953, the jails were filled. I am fortunate to have conducted Satyagraha at the age of 19 with two other activists from Kangra and spent 8 months in jail. I was in jail when Dr. Mukherjee was sacrificed.”
Kumar further informed this correspondent that, “At that time, my companions Satyagraha from  Kangra, Chandramohan of Daroh, Ram Ratan Pal are not in this world today, were staying with me in Hisar Jail. Of the 25 of my colleagues of that time in Hisar jail, not a single one is alive today. I am the only one alive of those Satyagrahis, to see the complete merger of Kashmir.” Shanta Kumar paid homage to all those companions and remembered thousands of other Satyagrahis of that time.
Shanta Kumar said that abolishing Article 370 was now considered impossible. “Congratulations to Narendra Modi once again for making this impossible possible”, said Shanta.
