Shanta instructed NHAI to complete survey work of Mandi-Pathankot four laning work soon

Dharamshala, November 30, 2018: BJP MP Shanta Kumar said that four lane project of Pathankot- Mandi National Highway from Pathankot will prove to be a milestone in promoting tourism in the state. He said that this road from Pathankot to Mandi and its extension upto Leh in Ladakh will change the geography of this entire region. He said, “If the geography of the area changes, history will also change. This project is a new chapter of our future development.”
Shanta Kumar was presiding over a review meeting on the project to make the four lane of Pathankot -Mandi and Mantur-Shimla National Highways, in the conference hall of the Deputy Commissioner's office in Dharamshala, on Friday.
Shanta Kumar said that tourism is one of the fastest growing industries in the world. He said that there are immense possibilities of tourism in Himachal Pradesh. He said that whatever the tourism require, anywhere in the world, everything is present in Himachal. He said that if roads are made of high standards, then we can write a new story about the future development of Himachal Pradesh.
Shanta said, “Considering the increasing number of tourists, it is the right time to provide better facilities for them in the same proportion.” He deliberated discussions about the four lane of these national Highways with all the officials present in the meeting. He instructed to accelerate the process of formation of the four-laning of Pathankot-Mandi and Matro-Shimla National Highways. He instructed the officials to complete all the formalities regarding these projects so that its foundation stone could be laid soon.
He asked to complete soon the land acquisition process for the Pathankot-Mandi four lane. He told the officials of Indian National Highways Authority that while conducting surveys, it should be taken care that nobody has any problem. He expressed his happiness about the progress of the four-laning work so far.
