Sewerman dies while working; two injure

Punjab CM announces Rs.1 lakh grant for family of deceased
Ludhiana, January 11, 2014: Surinder, a sewerman, died while cleaning a sewerage in the local Abdullapur Basti today. He was a resident of Mundian Kalan village. Other two sewer men are undergoing treatment in a local private hospital, said an official information here this evening.
On hearing about the incident, the Ludhiana deputy commissioner Rajat Aggarwal apprised the Punjab chief minister Parkash Singh Badal following which the latter expressed his grief over the incident and prayed for eternal peace of the department soul.
