Several trains affected due to farmer’s protest in Ferozepur

Ferozepur, April 18: Twenty trains were cancelled besides two other were short terminated due to farmer’s protest today. The trains which were cancelled included Jalandhar City- Hoshiarpur JUC- HSX Express Special (06960), Hoshiarpur – Jalandhar DMU (06955), Lohian Khas – Phillour Express Special (06984, 06985 up and down), Khemkaran- Bhagtawala Express Special (06943 and 06944 un and down), Ferozepur-Bathinda Express Special (01612 and 01611 up and down), Ludhiana- Ferozepur DMU (04625 and 04626 up and down), Amritsar-Qadian DMU (06947 and 06948 up and down), Amritsar-Pathankot Express Special (06933), Pathankot- Verka Express Special (06936 and 06935 up and down), Pathankot- Amritsar Express Special (06938), Verka – Dera Baba Nanak Express Special (06923 and 06924 up and down), Dera Baba Nanak- Verka Express Special (06925 and 06926 up and down).

Two trains including Bathinda- Fazilka Express Special (04551 and 04552 up and down) were short terminated from Village Khui Khera in Fazilka.

Earlier, following the call given by “Sanyukt Kissan Morcha”, farmers belonging to various farmer’s union including Krantikari Kissan Union (Punjab), Bharti Kissan Union (Dakonda), BKU (Ugraha), Kissan Majdoor Sangharsh Committee, BKU (Punjab), Kul Hind Kissan Sabha, Kaumi Kissan Union, blocked the railway tracks from 12 noon to 4 pm at Cantt. railway station.
