Sensitization Programme on occasion of World Water Day 

Chandigarh, March 22, 2022: It was one of its kind events on Tuesday, 22nd March 2022, when IQAC Cell of UIL, Panjab University Regional Centre of Ludhiana in collaboration with Jeev Jantu Paryavaran Sambhal Sewa Samiti, organized a unique Sensitization Programme on the occasion of "World Water Day". Event took place under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Arti Puri - Director, PURC, Ludhiana. Dr. Pooja Sikka (IQAC Convenor) & Subhash Sondhi (President of Jeev Jantu Paryavaran Sambhal Sewa Samiti) were the convenors of this event. Many dignitaries marked their presence in this event.
 
Keynote speaker was Dr. Rajan Aggarwal, Principal Scientist cum-Head, Deptt. of Renewable Energy Engineering, Punjab Agriculture University. In his presidential address, Mr. Aggarwal emphasized on point that water cannot be created and it is high time to think about the continuous depletion of ground water level & how our lifestyles and health are suffering from polluted water. He highlighted the need for amendments in Water Management laws.
 
Principal of Lord Mahavira Homoeopathic Medical College & Hospital - Prof. (Dr.) Ravinder Kochhar said that what we need to save is not water but ourselves, our life. Moving forward, Mr. Tarlochan Lochi & Manjinder Dhanoa, famous poets of Punjab, shared their views on the topic through awakening & inspiring poems. Students of University Institute of Laws also sensitized about the theme including Simar (student of B.A.LL.B- 6 Sem).
 
Forging ahead to the honor ceremony, the guest speaker was honoured by Prof. Arti Puri, Subhash Sondhi & Dr. Ravinder Korchar. The programme was attended by students of B.A.LL.B.,  LL.B. and LL.M. as well. In the end Prof. (Dr.) Arti Puri expresses her gratitude to dignitaries for gracing the occasion and sharing their vast knowledge and experience in this field.
