Ludhiana, October 1, 2025: Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain described senior citizens as the guiding light of society, emphasizing the invaluable wisdom and experience they bring to the community.
Speaking at an event organized by the Senior Citizens Care Foundation on the occasion of International Day for Older Persons, Jain called for greater respect and care for the elderly to foster a safe, secure, and inclusive environment.
Jain stated that directions have already been issued to all government departments to prioritize senior citizens, ensuring they face no difficulties in accessing administrative services. He stressed that creating a sense of belonging for the elderly is both a pressing need and a moral obligation. “All departments must provide compassionate and efficient services to make seniors feel valued and respected,” he said.
During the event, Jain extended heartfelt greetings to senior citizens and commended their contributions to flood relief efforts. He also unveiled a book authored by Yashpal Bangia during the event.
