Aman Arora Says People Across Punjab Are Joining AAP Impressed by Bhagwant Mann Government's Work and Arvind Kejriwal's Policies
Chandigarh, June 10, 2026: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab received a major boost on Wednesday as senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders Sunil Cham from Phagwara and George Sagar from Jalandhar, along with hundreds of their supporters, joined the AAP in the presence of AAP Punjab President Aman Arora, AAP General Secretary and Tourism Deptt Adviser Deepak Bali, and Jalandhar Cantt In-charge Rajwinder Kaur Thiara.
Welcoming the new entrants into the party, Aman Arora said that a strong wave in favour of the Aam Aadmi Party is sweeping across Punjab. He stated that people from all sections of society are joining AAP after witnessing the pro-people governance of the Bhagwant Mann-led government over the past four years and the policies and vision of AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal.
Arora said that the recent Municipal Corporation and Municipal Council election results clearly reflected the overwhelming support of the people for the Aam Aadmi Party. He noted that parties such as the Congress, Shiromani Akali Dal, and BJP, which often claimed to have a strong base in urban areas, were decisively rejected by voters.
Highlighting the significance of the joining, Arora said that Sunil Cham, a senior BJP leader from Phagwara and former Chairman of the Improvement Trust, had been associated with the BJP for the last 31 years. He said that Sunil Cham's decision to leave the BJP after more than three decades and join the Aam Aadmi Party, along with hundreds of supporters, reflects the growing faith of people in AAP's policies and governance.
Arora further welcomed George Sagar, former BJP Mandal President from Jalandhar, who also joined the party along with dozens of supporters. He said that George Sagar enjoys immense respect and influence in his area, and his induction would further strengthen the party's organizational base.
Thanking all the leaders and workers for reposing faith in the Aam Aadmi Party, Arora said that their inclusion would further strengthen the party and expand its reach among the people. He also congratulated Deepak Bali and Rajwinder Kaur Thiara for facilitating the joining.
Arora expressed confidence that more leaders and workers from other political parties who are disappointed with their parties' policies would join the Aam Aadmi Party in the coming days. He reiterated that AAP is committed to its mission of making Punjab prosperous and vibrant once again through honest politics, good governance, and people-centric policies.
The newly inducted leaders assured the party leadership that they would work dedicatedly to strengthen the party and contribute towards the development and progress of Punjab.
