Senior BJP leader Sanjay Tandon Unveils Valmiki Palanquin Ceremony Poster 

Chandigarh, August 29, 2026: The poster for the upcoming palanquin ceremony dedicated to Bhagwan Valmiki was formally unveiled by  Senior BJP leader and party's National Council Member Sanjay Tandon at a function held at his Chandigarh residence.
Speaking on the occasion, Sanjay Tandon said, “Bhagwan Valmiki Ji’s life and teachings have given society the message of truth, equality, compassion and righteousness. The Valmiki palanquin ceremony is not just a religious and cultural event but is also an opportunity to strengthen the bonds of unity and brotherhood in society.”
Tandon said that such initiatives play an important role in connecting the younger generation with India’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage. “Our youth are the strength of our society. Events that bring young people together with a sense of service, respect and social responsibility can contribute significantly to building a harmonious and inclusive society,” he added.
He further said, “I am confident that the upcoming ceremony will spread the message of social harmony and mutual respect across the Tricity. With the blessings of Bhagwan Valmiki Ji, may this initiative inspire everyone to work together for the welfare of society.”
The ceremony is being organised by the Bhagwan Valmiki Shobhayatra Organising Committee, Tricity Chandigarh Pradesh, under the leadership of Samdarsh Ved (Joseph). The event aims to strengthen social unity, empower the youth and promote social harmony and brotherhood.
The poster launch was attended by prominent members and dignitaries of the Valmiki community, including Om Pal Chawar, Jasbir Tank, Dharamvir Rana, Om Prakash Saini, Jyoti Hans, Rani and Anita Lohre. Young representatives Dilpreet, Satinder Mehra, Deepak Birla and Sonu were also present.
The organisers said that the upcoming ceremony would provide an important platform to bring people together and promote the values of unity, equality and social harmony. The participation of community elders and youth representatives reflected the collective spirit behind the initiative.
The organisers expressed the hope that, with the blessings of Bhagwan Valmiki, the palanquin ceremony would carry the message of unity, brotherhood and social harmony to people across Chandigarh and the Tricity.
