Self-care, hygiene vital for healthy, confident life: Expert
A lecture on “Self-care and Hygiene” was organised at Lal Nath Hindu College, Rohtak, under the “Seva Mera Yogdan–Seva Sankalp Abhiyan”. The programme was jointly organised by the Women Cell, UOP, NSS Cell and Students’ Welfare Committee under the guidance and supervision of Dr Promila Yadav, Dr Chitra Sharma and Dr Rajni Kumari.
Rohtak, October 6, 2026: A lecture on “Self-care and Hygiene” was organised at Lal Nath Hindu College, Rohtak, under the “Seva Mera Yogdan–Seva Sankalp Abhiyan”. The programme was jointly organised by the Women Cell, UOP, NSS Cell and Students’ Welfare Committee under the guidance and supervision of Dr Promila Yadav, Dr Chitra Sharma and Dr Rajni Kumari.
The keynote speaker, Gynaecologist Dr Sheeni Sharma stressed that personal hygiene and self-care were essential for a healthy and confident life. She advised students to maintain daily hygiene, follow a balanced diet, get adequate sleep and remain alert to their physical and mental well-being.
She also sensitised students about menstrual hygiene, the proper use and timely changing of sanitary products, prevention of infections, nutrition and the need to seek medical advice instead of ignoring health concerns.
Principal Dr Anil Kumar Taneja said a healthy body and mind were the foundation of a successful and fulfilling life. He urged students to remain conscious of their health, hygiene and personal safety, and appreciated the initiative.
Dr Sanjeev Madan urged students to remain equally responsible towards their own well-being while meeting their personal and professional responsibilities.
Students raised questions related to health and hygiene, which were answered by Dr Sharma in a scientific and accessible manner. Faculty members and students attended the programme, which was conducted by Dr Seema Gosain.
