Second day of International Art Symposium at Apeejay College of Fine Arts
Jalandhar, February 1, 2019: On the second day of International Art Symposium organized at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar, the artists completed their paintings using various styles like blow painting, action painting etc. A cultural evening was organized to showcase them the culture of Punjab. Principal Dr.Sucharita on this eve said that the beauty of these International Workshops is how cultures commute from one side to other. On one hand the purpose of learning new skills is fulfilled and on the other hand we learn something about their culture and make them aware about ours as well. The cultural evening was inaugurated by the group song sung by the talented students of Music Department who are the stars of our College. The National winner of Youth Festival – Jyotika again gathered all the appreciations and applauds from the audience. Another well appreciated performance was given by the students of Theatre who performed Mime which showcased how girls of the modern era are all set to speak up for themselves and for their rights. Filled with the colors of Punjabi culture, Folk Orchestra; the melodious Western Song sung by Saaz Malhotra of B.A. IInd year and Maharashtra’s folk dance – Laavni marked the final performances of the evening which awe the gathering. The evening was filled with the diverse colours and the artists from Turkey enjoyed it to the last sip. After a day full of work, to witness such colours of fun, affection and culture but quite pleasing for them. Principal Dr. Sucharita Sharma applauded the performances of the students and congratulated Head Department of Music Dr. Amita Mishra and other members of the Department – Dr. Seema Sharma, Dr. Anupam Sood, Dr. Vivek Verma, Dr. Micky Verma; Head Department of Theatre Mr. Gurpreet Singh for their tireless and perpetual efforts to train the students in such fabulous manner who added another shining feather to the cap of Apeejay.
