SCS STUDENT TO ATTEND CONFERENCE IN PARIS
Chandigarh, June 12, 2019: Radhika Pasrija, a post-graduate student of School of Communication Studies (SCS), Panjab University,Chandigarh has been selected to represent Asia for the 5th World Journalism Education Congress scheduled to be held in Paris from July 9 to 11, 2019. Prof. Archana R Singh, Chairperson SCS said that, out of 170 projects received from the journalism students around the world, Radhika's paper has been selected for presentation. A total of 5 journalism students from different continents have been selected to attend the conference. The students will be presenting papers regarding their ideas about the future of journalism education. It is indeed a proud moment for SCS and PU as well. The session will be presided on stage by the keynote speaker François Taddei, the Director of the Center for Research and Inter-disciplinarily of the Université Paris Descartes.  World Journalism Education Congress offers an insightful space to journalism educators and scholars from all around the world to get together and share their teaching experiences and research papers, all dedicated to journalism education. It is organized every three years. The first WJEC was organized in Singapore in 2007 and the fourth edition in Auckland, New Zealand in 2016.The theme of 5th WJEC is “Imagine the Journalism School of Tomorrow” regarding which innovative ideas about the future of journalism education were sought from around the world.
