Jalandhar, September 23, 2019: C.V.Raman society of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya under the able guidance of Principal Prof.Dr.Ajay Sareen organized Science Marathon 2019.
More than 500 students of Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Biotechnology and Bioinformatics departments participated in five events- Quotation writing, Poster making competition, Quiz competition, Scientific Rangoli Making competition, Scientific Skit and Choreography. Students presented their views on various latest topics of science as well as environmental problems like adverse effects of using Plastics on environment, Electricity shortage, Chandrayan mission, Menstrual effects, Are we using science or science using us? Man and Wildlife relation, Innovation of great things through science. Students participated with great interest and enthusiasm. In Quotation writing, Manminder Kaur got first prize. Reema bagged first prize in Poster competition whereas, Arshia and Manpriya got first prize in Quiz competition. In Scientific Rangoli making competition, Pratiksha and Nikhat got first prize. Students showed their amazing talent as well as gave their views through Scientific Skit and Choreography in which skit ‘Are we using Science or Science using us’ got first prize.
Coordinator of function Dr. Neelam Sharma congratulated all prize winners and participants and presented vote of thanks to all the teaching and non-teaching staff. She also appreciated the talent of students. She also said that the main motive of their function was to promote the basic science among the students and to apprise them of latest developments and innovations in science as well as knowledge of various environmental problems as well as their solutions. Stage was conducted by Dr.Anjana Bhatia.
On this occasion, Dr. Ekta Khosla, Deepshikha, Dr. Seema Marwaha, Dr. Shaveta, Dr. Nitika, Saloni Sharma, Sushil Kumar, Dr. Jitendar, Sumit Sharma, Asha Gupta and all other members of Science Department were also present.
Principal Dr. Ajay Sareen appreciated the initiative of Science Department and also congratulated the students for their creative skills, talent and participation in huge number. She also appreciated the efforts of science faculty members.
