School of Pharmaceutical Sciences lifts Overall Trophy of CT University Athletic Meet

Ludhiana, February 24, 2023: The sports ground was filled with zeal, excitement and sportsman spirit as the students and faculty marked its two-day 6th Annual Athletic Meet organised by Directorate of Sports. The meet was inaugurated by Charanjit Singh Channi, Chancellor, Harpreet Singh, Vice Chairman and Dr. Satish, Vice Chancellor (off.).


Dr. Satish Kumar addressed the students and motivated the students with the knowledge of the Historical development of game & sports in India and at global level.


The day started with March Past. The students took an oath in full spirit and displayed immense enthusiasm. More than 1000 students from all the schools participated in various events like 100m race, 200m, 400m race, 800m race, 1500m Race, 3000m, 5000m race, Long Jump, Relay, Shot Put, Tug of War, Discuss Throw and Javelin Throw etc. for both girls and boys.


On closing ceremony, IG Dr. Kaustubh Sharma (IPS) graced the occasion as the chief guest on the occasion. Mr. Anurag Paul Was guest of honour.

IG Dr. Kaustubh Sharma (IPS) recalled his student life and said ‘I recollect my own days when we take part in different events and make memories. It’s a golden period of one’s life in which one experience success and failure both.” He motivated and encouraged the students to stay fit and highlighted its impact on students life and how its inculcate value in life.


School of Pharmaceutical Sciences lifted Overall Trophy of CTU Athletic Meet. School of Engineering remained first runners up whereas School of Management Studies bagged Overall Champion in game & sports 2023 trophy.  Sardarni Manjeet Kaur Memorial trophy was bagged by School of Management Studies.  School of Law won the ‘Best March past’.


Sahib Zada Yamin Hussain of School of Pharmaceutical Sciences bagged the title of Best Athlete - Men and Komal Preet Kaur of School of Law remained Best Athlete - Women.


Director Sports Dr. Pravin Kumar delivered the vote of Thanks and read the annual sports report.

Dr Satish, Vice Chancellor (off.), CT University and Dr Pravin Kumar, Director Sports, while congratulating winners said, “Every year through Athletic Meet, we witness a new potential with spirit of sportsmanship. Students put their best efforts in showcasing their talents. The annual meet is a fruitful activity. I congratulate the winners and the participants.”


On this occasion Registrar Sarabpreet Singh, Deputy Director Department of Student Welfare Davinder Singh, Director – Planning and Development Ati Priye, Deans, Head of the departments, Faculty and Students were present.
