‘School of Excellence’ - The ‘Runway of Dreams’ for Every Child. CM Mann’s ‘Modern Age Temples’ Bring Bright Future, Know the New Facilities.

Chandigarh, October 25, 2025: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, not just a government has changed in Punjab, but the old structure of education that had created a deep divide between rich and poor children for decades has been completely transformed. CM Mann’s firm commitment is that Punjab’s youth will no longer just be job seekers, but will become capable of providing employment to the country based on their confidence and skills. To achieve this great goal, an ‘Education Revolution’ has been announced in the state, whose echo is being heard across the entire country today. His vision is clear: just like a runway at an airport helps planes reach great heights, initiatives like ‘Schools of Eminence’ are now providing children from poor families a strong runway to help their dreams take flight.

This revolution is taking concrete shape through 118 ‘Schools of Eminence’, which Chief Minister Mann calls ‘temples of the modern age’. These schools are not just buildings of brick and stone, but a guarantee of a bright future for millions of children whose parents could never even dream of quality education. The state government has spent over ₹231 crores on these schools to bring the quality of education to a level that was previously only reached by big and expensive private schools.

The central idea of this scheme is that no child, especially girls, should be deprived of education due to lack of resources. That’s why students are being given free uniforms, while free bus service has been started for girls. Most importantly, children in these schools are now receiving special coaching for difficult competitive exams like NEET, JEE, and Armed Forces, which charge lakhs of rupees in the market.

To ensure community participation in education, Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTM) have been hugely successful, with about 25 lakh parents participating, while senior officers are mentoring children through the ‘School Mentorship Program’.

And these efforts are now showing results on the ground. Chief Minister Mann has proudly shared that 265 students from government schools have qualified JEE Mains and 44 have qualified JEE Advanced. Additionally, 848 students have succeeded in the prestigious NEET exam. This success proves that government school children also have the ability to excel in the country’s toughest exams. The credibility of this model is such that even private school students are now joining ‘Schools of Eminence’ in large numbers.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s historic initiative ensures that every child in Punjab, no matter how poor their background, can make their dreams come true and reach new heights in life. Punjab’s future is now being built on the strong foundation of knowledge!
