School children visit Gurdwara on the eve of Guru Parv

On the eve of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Prakash Parv, students from various schools made an educational visit to Gurdwara Baba Soma Shah in the local DLF Colony on Tuesday. The purpose of this visit was to make the children aware of the significance of Guru Parv and the life of the first Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

Rohtak, November 4, 2025: On the eve of Guru Nanak Dev Ji's Prakash Parv, students from various schools made an educational visit to Gurdwara Baba Soma Shah in the local DLF Colony on Tuesday. The purpose of this visit was to make the children aware of the significance of Guru Parv and the life of the first Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

 

Head Granthi Bhai Gurjeet Singh informed the children about the rich and divine history and traditions of Sikhism and the teachings of the Guru Sahibs. He imparted the message of peace, compassion, and equality to the children. The children listened to Shabad Kirtan and also chanted the name of the Lord. After paying obeisance at the Darbar Sahib, the children offered prayers. Prasad was distributed to all the children.

 

During this visit, approximately 75 children of Nursery, LKG, and UKG classes from Little Scholars School visited the Gurdwara under the guidance of Kirti and other teachers. Meanwhile, approximately 220 children from Pre-Nursery to 4th grade from IPS Senior Secondary School visited the Gurdwara, led by Geetu, Aarti, Geeta, and other teachers. All the children were enthusiastic about the visit. Present were Hazuri Ragi Biba Manjot Kaur, Virendra Gosain, Ishita Bhatia, Manish Bajaj, Piyush, Preeti, and Kapil Bajaj.

 

Meanwhile, to commemorate Guru Parv, devotees continue to conduct the Prabhat Pheri (morning procession) every morning, led by the Nishan Sahib. The devotees are enthusiastically taking out processions through various parts of the city, praising the Guru's glory. At various places, people showered flowers on the procession and distributed prasad.

 

Head Granthi Bhai Gurjeet Singh said that on the occasion of Guru Parv on Wednesday, November 5; a grand Kirtan will be organised; in which  Hazuri Ragi Bibi Manjot Kaur, Bhai Trilok Singh (from USA) and Bibiyan Da Jatha will delight the Sangat by performing Shabad Kirtan.
