Scholarships worth Rs.80,000 were awarded to the needy and deserving students of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar by S.Jaswant Singh Rai Memorial Public Charitable Trust.

Jalandhar, July 23, 2025: Scholarships worth Rs.80,000 were awarded to the needy and deserving students of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar by S.Jaswant Singh Rai Memorial Public Charitable Trust. 
Speaking on the occasion, the College President Governing Council, Balbir Kaur lauded the Trust for extending this financial support to students. 
Principal Dr. Suman Chopra said that the Trust had been providing financial help to the students of the college for a number of years. She also reiterated the commitment of the college to affordable and quality education, adding that all possible efforts would be made to support meritorious and deserving students. 
This scholarship was regularly given by Dr. K.S. Rai son of Jaswant Singh Rai but this year his son Amarjit Singh Rai specially arrived at the college from America after the demise of Jaswant Singh Rai to continue this legacy.  
The recipients of this scholarship were Nargis Bano, Ishita Sharma, Kajal, Navjot Kaur, Arshpreet Kaur, Sharanpreet Kaur, Ronika Sharma and Tanu Priya. 
During this event, Dr. Gagandeep Kaur, HOD Zoology, Dr. Jaswant Kaur Dept. of Physiotherapy, Dr. Harjit Singh, HOD Mathematics, Prof. Sanjeev Kumar Anand, HOD Computer Science, Dr. Arun Dev Sharma, HOD Biotechnology, Dr. Navjot Kaur Dept. of Chemistry, Dr. Narveer Singh, HOD Physics and Dr. Jaswinder Kaur HOD EVS and Surinder Kumar Chalotra, P.A. were also present.
