Scholarships to poor and needy students distributed 

Ludhiana, September 28, 2021: An NGO, Models74 Educational Welfare Society, on Monday distributed scholarships to poor and needy students of Govt.Model Senior Secondary School, Cemetry Road, Ludhiana G.S.Chawla, press secretary of the society while addressing the media explained that the scholarships were given to 12 poor and needy students of the school on the recommendation of the Principal of the school and after proper scrutiny by a panel of the society. The amount of the scholarship is Rs 6000 per annum out which first quarter's amount of Rs 1500 to each recipient was given today and Rs 1500 per quarter will be given in remaining 3 quarters. In addition to that 5 students who excelled in different fields of sports at state and national level were also awarded trophies by the society. In a rare gesture, the society also launched biography of great teacher of yesteryears, H.S.Bedi entitled as "An Inspirational Teacher".
While launching the biography, the President of the Society, Dr.Gagandeep told that the biography has been written by the student, H.S.Bedi, Harjit Bola, her husband, Tarlok Singh Bola(now in England) and the co-author is, Param Saini. Another great science teacher. Varinder Aneja of yesteryears of this school , was also honoured along with Principal, Taskin Akhter by the Society. All the members of the society were students of, H.S.Bedi and Varinder in 1974. Naveen Sareen, Gurinder Khurana, Jagmohan, Surinder Kaur, Harjit Kaur, Naveen Chopra, Amarjit Singh recalled the sweet memories with these two great teachers of seventies. 
In the end, Amarjit Singh, the Secretary of the society thanked all those present and assured to meet again in the school, next year with more scholarships and other educational activities.
