Scholarship Distribution Function Organised by Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust

Ludhiana, May 16, 2026: Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust commemorated the 62nd Death Anniversary of India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru on Saturday at an impressive function was held in Panday Auditorium, Feroze Gandhi Market, Pakhowal Road, Ludhiana. Students from 35 schools were present in large numbers along with the eminent citizens of Ludhiana. Rakesh Bharti Mittal, Vice-Chairman of Bharti Foundation and President of the Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust was the Chief Guest. The function started with floral tributes to Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru by the Chief Guest and the Trustees.

Rakesh Bharti Mittal welcomed the students & teachers present on the occasion. He also shared the activities of the Trust and informed that the Trust has disbursed approx. Rs. 13 Crore under its various scholarship schemes to more than 30000 beneficiaries since its inception. He highlighted the Satya Scholarship scheme, which commenced last year, which provides 100% tuition fee to scholars. He also highlighted the Vocational Centre, where, out of 1050 students who had passed exams and 900 are placed at Rs. 14000 monthly salary. He also spoke about the Horizon School of Excellence at Bhamian Road, which will be a CBSE affiliated and is providing free education to underprivileged children.

The Trust had organized 31st Inter-School Declamation Contest on 8th May, 2026 in which 27 schools from Ludhiana had participated. The Chief Guest gave away the trophies to the winners of the contest & Nehru Championship Trophy to the winner team from Green Land Sen Sec Public School, Jalandhar Bye Pass, Ludhiana. Beside this, the scholarship cheques amounting to Rs. 16,92,700/- were distributed to needy students of Ludhiana.

Those present on the occasion were Rakesh Bharti Mittal, President, Bipin Gupta, General Secretary, Sunil Gupta, Vice President, G. L. Bassi, Treasurer and other Trustee and other members of various committees of Nehru Sidhant Kender Trust & other distinguished guests.
