Ferozepur, April 30, 2014: Leaving few incidents of sporadic violence at some places, elections in Ferozepur were ended on a peaceful note. Overall seventy percent of voters turned out to decide the fate of fifteen candidates contesting from this border area constituency on 1694 polling booths.
Manjit Singh Narang, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Returning Officer, Ludhiana said that no reports of any major booth violence, were recorded, except one or two incidents. One arrest was made at village Peer Shah Mohhammad, falls under Ferozepur (Rural) constituency. The accused was trying to cast fake vote.
Shri Parsad Chauhan, Chief Election Observer and Dilip Kumar, Chief Expenditure Observer paid random visits to the various polling booths to check the proceedings.
The first time voters were rewarded by the administration at few places.
