Saplings planted in Doaba College

Jalandhar, July 27, 2022: NSS unit of Doaba College Jalandhar under the banner of “Ek Baharat Shreshtha Bharat” government of India Programme organized Tree Plantation drive celebrating vanmaahotsav.

Principal Dr Pardeep Bhandari,Dr. Arshdeep Singh, NSS Coordinator, Prof. Sukhvinder Singh, Coordinator “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” and  NSS volunteers participated in the event and planted saplings of Amaltas, Gulmohar and Bottle Brush in Doaba College Campus.

Principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari encouraged the participants to adopt trees and become their caretakers. He also explained the aesthetic value associated with flowering trees and how these trees add to the beautification of campus. Dr. Arshdeep Singh, coordinator NSS also motivated students to plant trees in their societies so as to increase green cover. Dr. Rakesh Kumar, Department of Botany explained to the participants the flowering time and nutrient requirement of these trees.
