Ludhiana, October 13, 2013: Sankara Eye Hospital, Ludhiana, a premier tertiary level super specialty eye hospital of Punjab, which is already equipped with the latest sophisticated eye machines and other facilities manned by a team of expert eye surgeons in all eye related categories has now also got licensed with a fully functional Eye Bank.
This latest addition to Sankara Eye Hospital facility will allow the hospital to do more better service for the community. All senior Doctors & other officials of Ludhiana and the nearby area were invited to Sankara Eye Hospital to celebrate this achievement. Many senior persons including Ranjodh Singh – Chairman G.S Autos, Manjit Singh (DPM – Civil Surgeon Office, Ludhiana) and other doctors of Ludhiana had attended the inauguration function of eye bank on Sunday at Sankara Eye Hospital , Ludhiana.
Renowned cornea surgeon, Dr. Mukesh Aggarwal, who has taken over as the director of Eye Bank, hopes that this facility shall allow cornea surgeons like him to handle complicated cases and save even badly affected eyes. The availability of an eye bank allows eye surgeons to do procedures such as keratoplasty, which can prove a boon for severely affected eyes.
