Ludhiana, April 1, 2014: Sankara Eye Hospital, Ludhiana, commenced its operations on April 2, 2012. During these two years the staff and organisation has worked hard to promote quality eye care in Punjab. In these 2 years 25000 people visited Sankara Eye Hospital, Ludhiana and nearly all of them went back highly satisfied. In their community service program the hospital has conducted more than 250 camps, screened more than 50,000 people free of cost and carried out more than 6,000 surgeries free of cost.
Sankara Eye Hospital, Ludhiana is a part of Sankara eye Care Institutions (SECI), established in 1977. It is a 100 bedded super-specialty tertiary eye care hospital, equipped with world class facilities to provide comprehensive quality eye care services comparable to the best in international standards. It is the biggest eye super specialty hospital in all of Punjab. Sankara Eye Hospital, Ludhiana provides all ophthalmic sub specialties including Lasik vision correction, Computer vision clinic and has its own Eye Bank.
It is a registered, not-for-profit organisation that functions on a self-sustaining 80:20 model. The positive revenue generated from 20% of our services is used to cross-subsidise eye care to the underprivileged; 80% of our services is rendered free of cost, to these less privileged citizens.
