Harish Chavan elected as new Vice Chairman
Chandigarh, March 5, 2014: Sanjeev Pahwa, CMD of Ralson (India) Limited has been elected as the new Chairman while and Harish Chavan, COO, Swaraj Division (M&M) has been elected as the new Vice Chairman of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Punjab State Council, for the year 2014 – 15, said a CII Press Release.
Sanjeev Pahwa has done his B.Tech from I.I.T, Delhi. Pahwa carries with him rich entrepreneurial experience in manufacturing sector and is currently the CMD of Ralson (India) Limited which is a 40 year old company which manufactures tyres and tubes of cycles, scooters & motor cycles etc. Having an annual turnover of Rs 700 crore, Ralson employs 4000 people. It is one of the largest cycle tyre manufacturing companies in the country producing more than 30 million tyres per year. The products find wide acceptance in the OEM as well as the replacement markets.
Harish Chavan, the new Vice Chairman is a graduate in Mechanical Engineering and MBA in Finance with over 21 years of experience in diverse functions and multicultural business environments in India as well as in overseas markets.
He is currently Chief Operating Officer at Swaraj Division of Farm Equipment Sector of Mahindra & Mahindra located in Mohali. In a career spanning over 15 years with Mahindra, he has been involved in various assignments in domestic and International markets. Prior to his current responsibility, he was President  & CEO of M&M’s China Operations for more than 5 years and was responsible for developing Mahindra’s tractor business in China, the world’s second largest tractor industry.
Mahindra & Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES), is a part of the US $15.4 billion Mahindra Group and is operating in India from the past 29 years. Its the largest tractor company in the world with sales of tractors in more than 40 countries.  Mahindra & Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES), has won the Deming Application Prize in 2003, the second company in India to win the Japan Quality Medal in 2007, followed by the TPM Excellence Award in 2011. The Swaraj Division of Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M), Farm Equipment Sector (FES), has won the prestigious Deming Application Prize in 2012.
