The Shibulal Family Philanthropic Initiatives (SFPI) hosted the second edition of Sangamam - an ethereal celebration bridging artists and connoisseurs of Indian Classical music and dance forms and Folk art forms.

This year, Sangamam was held on 8th July 2023, at St. John’s Auditorium, Bangalore featuring Ramon Magsaysay awardee and world-renowned vocalist, TM Krishna.

A team of exemplary artists joined him for his magical performance. The name of the artists includes – N. Guruprasad, one of the shining stars among the artistes on playing his captivating clay pot. Akkarai S Sornalatha, a prodigious Indian classical (Carnatic) violinist and vocalist whose soulful music has captivated the hearts of music lovers worldwide and Praveen Sparsh, a multi percussionist and a music producer who started learning the art of Mridangam playing at the age of 5 from Mridangam Maestro Guruvayur Sri Dorai.  Born out of passion of The Shibulal Family Philanthropic Initiatives (SFPI), Sangamam aims to reconnect the audience to their cultural roots through enriching performances by respected artistes of the country.

On the occasion, Kumari Shibulal said, "Music is inspirational, therapeutic and entertaining. It binds people together and transcends boundaries and differences. Shibulal and I share a very personal connection with Indian Classical music, and in the pursuit of celebrating the heritage and culture of music, we came up with Sangamam. We believe that through Sangamam, we will be able to establish a unique connection with the audience and encourage artistes to showcase their art.”

With its captivating year-long series of musical concerts, Sangamam will provide a kaleidoscope of genres that encompass Hindustani, Carnatic and a vibrant array of folk-art forms. The initiative will feature artists who pour their hearts and souls into their craft, ignite emotions, and evoke a sense of wonder that lingers long after the final note fades, allowing the audience to immerse themselves into a celebration of art and culture.

Last year, Sangamam hosted its first Indian Classical Musical concert with world-renowned artists - Ranjani Sisters and received a lot of positive feedback from the music admirers.
