SAM Introduces Foundation Music Program as part of Spring 2016 Semester

Chennai, December 14, 2015: Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music, Asia’s premier institute for Music Education is inviting applications for Spring 2016 semester in India and Abroad. Launching this semester, applications are also invited for SAM’s one-of-its kind course – Foundation Music Program, which is a uniquely designed, preparatory program offered for aspiring musicians, who have limited or no formal training in music and those desirous of starting a professional career in music. 
 
Scheduled to begin in the month of January, the faculty line up for the Spring 2016 term has a balanced mix of renowned international and Indian artists such as Mr. Sid Jacobs (Guitar), Mr. Pablo Lapidusas (Piano), Mr. Jean Davoisne (Drums), Ms. Mili Vizcaino (Voice), Mr. Johann Berby (Bass Guitar), Mr. Barry Hogan (Music Production), Mr. Sreyas Narayanun (Carnatic Voice) and Dr. S. Karthick (Indian Percussion).  The Foundation Music Program is a 10-week intensive program which will introduce students to the exciting field of music production and to the world of carnatic music as well. This comprehensive course of study provides the right foundation to empower students with the right skill set to excel in the music industry as an all rounder.
 
The application window for the Spring 2016 batch will be open till January 7, 2016. 
The courses offered as part of the Spring 2016 are
o      One Year Diploma in Music Performance
o      Two Year Diploma in Music Performance
o      Single Semester Program in Music  Performance
o      One Year Diploma in Music Production and Technology
o      Four Year Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance (with McNally Smith College of Music, Minnesota)
o      Foundation Music Program

One of the prominent courses offered at SAM is the four-year bachelor’s degree in Music performance in association with McNally Smith College of Music, Minnesota. The arrangement allows students of SAM to transfer up to 60 credits (two years of study) towards completing their Bachelor of Music (B. Mus) degree from MSCM.
 
Under the Semester Abroad programme, a SAM student can take a semester abroad and study at MSCM, and an MSCM student can take semester abroad and study at SAM. This semester exchange program is a wonderful opportunity for SAM students, as it provides exposure to different cultures, new experiences, learning about traditional American performing styles and further career opportunities abroad.
