Sakshi Sawhney takes charge as DC Ludhiana

Newly appointed Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney while assuming the charge of office here today said the top priority would be accorded in effective implementation of the government's schemes and policies besides ensuring a clean, transparent and responsive administration to the people.

Ludhiana, January 30, 2024: Newly appointed Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sawhney while assuming the charge of office here today said the top priority would be accorded in effective implementation of the government's schemes and policies besides ensuring a clean, transparent and responsive administration to the people. 

Sawhney, a 2014- batch officer of the Indian Administrative Service, said a transparent mechanism would be evolved for further streamlining the administrative functioning in the district. She said that being an Industrial hub of the state, Ludhiana is an important district and every effort would be made to implement pro-people and development-oriented policies of the state government to benefit the masses.

A law graduate, Sakshi Sawhney is known for her commitment to work and quick decision-making, the newly appointed DC said that she would carry forward the programmes and policies of the state government to safeguard the interests of every section of society, adding that due focus would be laid on children, women and elders. She said that all the officers and employees must work as a team to serve the people at any cost. 

Earlier on her arrival here, she was also given Guard of Honor at district administrative complex by a contingent of Punjab Police.

Before serving as Deputy Commissioner Patiala, she had served as Additional Secretary Coordination and staff officer of Chief Secretary, Punjab, Chandigarh, ADC (G) at SAS Nagar, and ADC (D) at Bathinda. 

Prominent amongst those present on the occasion included ADCs Gautam Jain, Major Amit Sareen, SDM Dr Harjinder Singh Bedi and others.
