Dharamshala, May 15,2025: Saina Thakur, daughter of Sandeep Kumar and a student of Neugal Model Public School, Bhawarna (Kangra), has topped the Class 10 examination conducted by the Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) for the academic session 2024–25. She secured 696 out of 700 marks, achieving an impressive score of 99.43%.

Ridhima Sharma, daughter of Naresh Kumar and a student of R.K. Senior Secondary School, Ghumarwin (Hamirpur), secured the second position with 695 marks. The third position was shared by two students — Mudita Sharma, daughter of Pankaj Sharma from Modern Public Senior Secondary School, Swarghat, and Parnika Sharma, daughter of Ajay Kumar from Minerva Senior Secondary School, Ghumarwin — both scoring 694 marks.

Addressing the media, Dr. Major Vishal Sharma, Secretary of HPBOSE, informed that a total of 95,495 students appeared for the Class 10 examination this year. Of these, 75,862 students passed, 13,574 failed, and 5,563 were placed in the compartment category, resulting in an overall pass percentage of 69.8%. Remarkably, the top seven positions  were secured by girls.

The Class 10 examinations were conducted from March 4 to March 22, 2025, across 2,300 examination centers set up throughout the state. Exams in the tribal regions of Lahaul-Spiti and Pangi were conducted on alternate schedules due to logistical reasons.

Dr. Sharma added that with the result now declared, students can access their mark sheets on the official HPBOSE website and other authorized platforms. This year, students can also download their certificates directly from DigiLocker, a significant improvement over previous years when students had to wait days after the result announcement to receive their official documents.
