SAIF PU trains 1640 school students under STUTI Awareness Programs

Chandigarh, February 28, 2022: A week-long celebrations of Science week under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav in the form of Awareness programs under STUTI were concluded with great fervor at Panjab University on Science Day. The concluding Awareness Program held at SAIF PU was attended by science stream XI-XII school students from five schools namely, DAV Public School Sector 8C Chandigarh, DAV Public School sector 15 Chandigarh, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Chandigarh, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Ludhiana and Gian Jyoti Global Mohali.

Prof. RK Kohli, Vice Chancellor, Amity University, Mohali graced the occasion and delivered a keynote talk on Why and How to Choose science research as a career” which highly motivated and encouraged the young minds towards the scientific field. Students enthusiastically participated in diverse scientific awareness activities such as extempore, quiz and poster making competition. Most importantly, the students visited the sophisticated analytical instrumentation laboratory to learn and understand about the various superior analytical instruments. This rare exposure was relished by all the students.
Prof. Ganga Ram Chaudhary, Coordinator STUTI Program shared that 1640 school students from XI-XII Science stream have been benefitted through the Science Awareness Programs organized during the Science week by STUTI PU and its spokes. He emphasized on the crucial aspects and goals of STUTI program in creating a wholesome awareness related to the science and technology amongst the budding science aspirants so that they may be trained to represent a developed India while we celebrate 100 years of independence in 2047.
The program concluded with a highly illustrious lecture from the eminent scientist, Prof. KK Bhasin, NASI-Platinum Jubilee Fellow and Emeritus Professor, PU. The event successfully and holistically fascinated the budding science students towards the wonders and opportunities in the science field.
