SADHU SINGH DHARAMSOT PROVIDES FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO FOREST OFFICIALS INJURED IN SEONK INCIDENT
HANDS OVER CHEQUES OF RS.50000 EACH TO 2 OFFICIALS & RS. 21000 EACH TO 4 OFFICIALS CHANDIGARH, OCTOBER 5, 2018: The Forest Minister, Punjab, Mr.Sadhu Singh Dharamsot today provided financial assistance to the 6 officials of the forest department who were injured in the incident that took place some months ago at village seonk in S.A.S.Nagar district. The minister handed over cheques of Rs.50000 each to 2 and Rs.21000 each to 4 officials under the ex-gratia scheme. The minister said that a cheque of Rs.50000 was handed over to the family members of Block Officer Davinder Singh and a cheque of the same amount was also given to Beldar Karnail Singh who were both seriously injured in the incident whereas cheques worth Rs. 21000 each were given to forest guard Ravinder Singh, Beldar Rajinder Singh, Beldar Mahinder Singh and Beldar Bhaga Ram who all were injured in the incident. The minister also applauded the devotion to duty displayed by these officials. It is noteworthy to mention that these officials were performing their duty on 19th June 2018 at village seonk-shingariwala road in S.A.S. Nagar district at 10:30 pm. At this point, some people attacked these officials resulting in 2 getting seriously injured while the other 2 got minor injuries. Mr. Dharamsot while reiterating his commitment towards the security of the departmental officials in the forest areas of the state, said that the campaign initiated against the sand and wood mafia under the leadership of the Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh is being implemented with full strictness. On the occasion, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Mr. Jatinder Sharma and DFO District S.A.S. Nagar Mr. Guraman Preet Singh were also present.
