Tarn Taran April 30, 2026: In a major show of strength and structural solidarity, the senior-most leadership and the traditional (Taksali) rank and file of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Thursday staged a massive protest against the Punjab government at the Chohla Sahib Power House.
The demonstration, organized under the decisive leadership and patronage of District President Jathedar Alwinderpal Singh Pakhoke, saw the participation of the entire organisational hierarchy of the Khadoor Sahib constituency. The congregation sent a clear and loud political signal regarding the party's absolute internal unity and its formidable grassroots grip.
Addressing the sea of supporters, Ravinder Singh Brahmpura, Vice President of SAD and former MLA, asserted that the Shiromani Akali Dal has historically been the sole guardian of Punjab's interests. "Today’s overwhelming gathering is a testament to the fact that the original heirs of the party’s legacy and the Taksali workers stand as an impenetrable fortress, completely united and focused," Brahmpura said.
The protest was attended by the bedrock of the party’s leadership in the region, including Jathedar Gurbachan Singh Karmuwala (Member SGPC), Jathedar Dalbir Singh Jahangir (Vice President, SAD), Gursevak Singh Sheikh (Member Core Committee, Youth Akali Dal), Jagjit Singh Jaggi (District President, Youth Akali Dal), Jagtar Singh Dhunda (District President, SC Wing), Manjinder Singh Lati (District President, BC Wing), Gyan Singh (Ex-Zila Parishad Member), and Jagir Kaur Manochahal (Member Zila Parishad).
The event also witnessed an unprecedented presence of grassroots leaders, including several Sarpanches and Block Samiti members, signaling that the entire institutional framework of the party in Khadoor Sahib is aligned under this senior leadership.
Political observers noted that the joint participation of the entire district organization, SGPC members, and elected rural representatives has established a significant narrative. It underscores that the "true backbone" of the Shiromani Akali Dal consists of its dedicated and Taksali leaders. This display of unflinching unity has effectively reaffirmed that the party's foundation in its panthic heartland remains unshakable and that its loyalists are battle-ready to safeguard the party’s principles on every front.
